Amazing places and people

Last summer holidys I went n a long trip with my husband. We did part of our trip with a group of friends, that was really fun. We also meet some old friends from my husband that have left Chile many years ago.
The trip started on the 2 of february an end up on the 8 of march.  First of all we spend three weeks in Israel , I realized I had a wrong image of this country.  I tought Iwould find a los of militars an police every where an I think I have seen more militars o policeman in Santiago than in Jeruslem o Tel Aviv. People was extremely kind, they were always willing to help you in any way. On the other hand I was really impress about the cultural diversity you can find in Israel.  People from different places an different beliefs. Arabs, catholic orthodox, jewish, drusos, russian orthodox. They all seem to have a place an they share dairy life whith people that comes from all over the world. Apart from that the landscape is so diverse. They have the Sinai desert in one side an in the north on the way to Galilea the lanscape is always green an full of farms.
By the way land in Israel belongs to the state, an agriculture is mainly developed in kibutz. Kibutz are sort of cooperatives, there are 260 kibutz in Israel an they provide fruits vegetables and technology for the hole country. Israel exports a lot of high tecnology to the rest of the world even do is a tiny country with arouns six millions inhabitants. What I like a lot was that you can go all over the country in  a day traveling from north to south will take you a day driving.
Of course the relations between jewish an palestinians are very complicated to understand. I had the impression that not even jewish people was eable to explain to us how every thing works in terms of limits an
an organization in the occupied territories.
Ok I have to finish now
I expect yor comments
regards
Juanita

  1. I sounds like a nice trip Juanita. I also have mixed feelings about Israel but because of theri foreign policies and all the abuse on the Palestines. Not to mention their influence in the financial system we live in. However, I have met some really nice Israelis.
